Press Release

Matthew McCaslin's fourth solo exhibition at Sandra Gering Gallery, was presented at its former Chelsea location.

Matthew McCaslin is internationally known for his video and light sculptures. His distinct visual vocabulary, built on industrial materials, combines elegance and formality with roughness and spontaneity. When discussing the work exhibited at Sandra Gering Gallery, McCaslin says:

"These seemingly disparate pieces are a playful reflection on the objects we live with and environments we live in. By mixing materials, gesture, and locations, I hope to evoke feelings in the viewer of the world around them that are deeply rooted but can't be simply placed."

Matthew McCaslin has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums around the world, including recent solo exhibitions in France, Spain, and Switzerland. Recent group exhibition venues include the Brooklyn Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park, and the Valencia Biennale.
