"Dubbed one of the world’s premier “light artists,” Villareal uses LEDs and computer-programmed imagery to create monumental sculptures. Most notable of these was The Bay Lights, a 2-mile-long light sculpture on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge."

The level, the caliber of work’” that one sees at NorthPark is amazing. He also loves the fact that 26 million people a year come to NorthPark.
He cited works by Mark di Suvero, Joel Shapiro, Anthony Caro and Frank Stella, not to mention Andy Warhol, that make up the nearly 150 pieces in the NorthPark collection.
You can now add Villareal to the collection. His work can best be summarized in the biblical affirmation, “Let there be light!”(..)" READ MORE
